Do you know what those ropes are for in our studio?

In the work of B.K.S. Iyengar, wall ropes are used to make students more aware of their alignment, help them open areas of the body that are otherwise hard to reach, and support them in poses that can be hard to perform, like backbends or inversions. There is a great variety of ways to work with the ropes: from very active poses (swinging in the ropes from downward facing dog to upward facing dog) to relaxing, restorative and rejuvenating poses.

This workshop is especially for those who are not familiar with Iyengar Yoga or with using ropes. Peter will guide you through simple but very efficient poses to get used to working with these props who are unique to the Iyengar System. So don’t be afraid:-) You won’t fall out or it will not be to hard for you. Everyone can do this and enjoy the benefits!
