What is Yoga Therapy?

At Yogaseads in Scheveningen, we offer one-on-one yoga therapy designed especially for your personal needs. Yoga therapy helps you release tension, find calm, and restore balance in both body and mind.

Through relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, yoga poses, guided inquiry, and meditation, we work to create more freedom of movement and release areas of tightness. You will learn to notice when stress shows up in your body and how to calm your nervous system. This makes you more resilient and helps you feel steadier in daily life.

During the sessions, you reconnect with your body, thoughts, and emotions, so you can better understand what you truly need.

Each session starts with a short check-in conversation, and throughout the practice we regularly ask how you are feeling. This way we can adjust the session to what you need in the moment. It is not a talk-based therapy, but you are always welcome to share what is on your mind. Physical guidance (hands-on adjustments) is optional and only introduced if and when you are comfortable with it. If you like, you will receive simple exercises to practice at home, such as breathing or gentle movements. 

Is Yoga Therapy for You?

Yoga therapy at Yogaseads can support you if you are experiencing:

  • stress, tension, or anxiety

  • fatigue or lack of energy

  • recovery from surgery or illness

  • feeling “stuck” or emotionally blocked

  • difficulty connecting to your feelings

You do not need any yoga experience to benefit from yoga therapy. It is a personal and gentle approach that adapts completely to your body, your situation, and your goals. It can also be a valuable complement to psychotherapy or other healing practices.

You can discover this personal way of practicing yoga in a safe and supportive setting. Sessions are offered in Dutch or English.

Reach Out

Yoga Therapy by our yoga teachter Maaike Peys takes place at the Yogaseads studio. Please reach out to Maaike for a free intake— a short conversation to see if this might be right for you, with no strings attached. The sessions take place in the small or big room when there are no regular classes.

  • The free intake is a no-obligation conversation (face-to-face or by phone), where we get to know your personal situation, the challenges you're facing, and your specific needs. Feel free to call or email Maaike anytime, no need to schedule in advance, and see if yoga therapy is something for you!

  • During our first session, we’ll go over the intake form you’ve completed after our initial call or meeting. Then we’ll get straight onto the mat and begin. This session lasts 1.5 hours.
    Cost: €75

  • You’ll receive three yoga therapy sessions of 1 hour each. We’ll gently and directly address your personal challenges. You’ll also get tools and tips to support your practice at home. If you’d like, you can book additional single sessions afterwards.
    Investment: €180 for 3 sessions of 60 to 75 minutes.
